Dear Mr. Jaworski:
The Director has requested that I forward to you a copy of his
24 June 1974 letter to Chairman Ervin of the Senate Select Committee on
Presidential Campaign Activities. This letter discusses our efforts
with that Committee to be cooperative with respect to sanitization/
declassification procedures regarding documents provided by the
Agency as well as testimony of current and former Agency employees.
As you will note, copies of this letter have also been made
available to Chairman Stennis of the Senate Armed Services Committee
and Chairman McClellan of the Senate Appropriate Committee in view
of their jurisdiction regarding the Agency and their responsibilties
