MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: MHCHAOS
1. I called Dick Ober today to tell him that the Director
had received a copy of his June 18 letter to the Vice President
about the Rockefeller Commission report. I told Ober he
might want to consider elaborating his concerns about the con-
clusions in that report dealing with CHAOS. Neither the Agency
nor the Director is requesting that Ober elaborate his concerns
but the option is his if he wants to exercise it.
2. Ober said he would think this over. He pointed out that
he had never been advised of how the Director had described the,
projaect in his 24 December 1974 report to the President. I told
him the Commission's findings were much more apt to have
relied on the very extensive digging they did internally here in
the Agency.
