All administrative and financial obligations of CIA connected with
these cover placements were fulfilled by November 1973, and CIA
has had no official relatior.ship with the Robert R. Mullen Company
or its officers since then.

3. In addition to briefing our ambassadors and officials
of the liaison services, Acting Assistant Secretary of State
Hummel, Assistant Secretary Hartman, and Deputy Director for
Coordination/INR, McAfee were also advised.
4. There has been a minimum of public follow-up to
the original Dan Rather revelations, but there still remains the
possibility that CIA's use of the Robert R. Mullen Company for
cover purposes will get additional attention and publicity.
