Following from Lawrence Meyer of
Post Watergate team'. He get to
Senator Baker yesterday and talked to
him about an hour.
Baker said at one point that "Mr.
Colby had volunteered some information
(yesterday? recently?) including
something that had previously not
come out". Baker was investigating
that matter.
Meyer said he was curious if this
detail is considered important by you
and his chat with Baker yesterday made
him "even more interested in seeing
the Director than previously".
Meyer said he did not know when
he would be writing his story although
"it depends upon what sort of a story
I do. I could start writing now."
I asked hiii to hold off while I queried
you to see whether the Baker interview
had changed your mind on obliging him
in the matter. I mentioned 10:00
tomorrow morning. He said he would let
me know if he can't hold off that long.
