SUBJECT: Allegation of CIA Intercept of AFL-CIO Correspon-
dence; Agency Relationship with AFL-CIO
1. The Central Intelligence Agency at no time conducted
a covert mail intercept of the correspondence of the AFL-CIO
or, more particularly, the personal mail of Mr. George Meany.
However, correspondence of that organization did come into
the possession of the Agency from time to time for the
reasons noted below.
