The original request was not specific, but it gradually emerged that Dean was concerned with the possible adverse publicity that might develop regarding the President's nephew, who was employed by IOS. There were multiple channels from the White House, presumably Haldeman and/or Ehrlichman to the Agency, including Helms and Cushman, on this subject. In all, six reports were passed by the CI Staff to Fred Fielding for John Dean. The reports were routine in nature and were coordinated with the DCI. The record indicates that Mr. David Young of the White House Staff asked Mr. Colby to set up a contact for Mr. T. C. Barreaux of the SEC. Mr. Barreaux first met with Mr. Paul Walsh, and together with a Mr. Timm.eny later met with Messrs. L.
