The office of the Information and Privacy Coordinator has received your
18 April 2005 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for records on Jozef
Swiatlo, who was one of the most important functionaries of the Polish
Ministry of Public Security. We have assigned your request the number above.

We conducted a search of our computerized system of previously released
material and located three responsive records, totaling 10 pages. As the cost of
searching for and reproducing these reports is minimal, there will be no cost to you in
this instance.
With regard to any additional material, however, the CIA can neither confirm
nor deny the existence or nonexistence of any CIA records responsive to your request
pursuant to FOIA exemptions (b)(1) and (b)(3). An explanation of these exemptions is
enclosed.
