My name is Ivan Hernandez. I am a producer at Telemundo in Los Angeles. I am writing
to seek information pertaining to specific events and certain individuals the CIA may
have records for under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
My colleague, Maria Garcia, previously requested the same information on September
12, 2002. The request was given a reference number. That number is F-2002-01542.
We are seeking information or confirmation of the following:
1) Eduardo Diaz Silveti, A Mexican citizen born 9/2/1929 worked with the CIA on
an operation
2) A CIA operation that supposedly took place on December of 1959 in Mexico City
where Mr. Diaz Silvetti claims he assisted the CIA and NASA obtain information
on the Soviet space program, specifically the Lunik 9, from a Science and
Technology exposition put on by the soviets in that city.
Also being requested is information on whether or not the following people worked for
the CIA and if they had involvement in the above mentioned operation:
3) Warren Dean
4) Winston Scott
5) Robert Zambernardini Luchi
We did receive a response from the Central Intelligence Agency neither confirming or
denying the information sought. We are writing again to see if there is any new
information available that may not have been at the time of our first writing.
