INTELLIGENCE MEMORANDUM
Pueblo Sitrep No. 32
(As of 5:00 P.M. EST)
1. Radio Pyongyang said little.today about
the Panmunjom negotiations. A Domestic Service
broadcast reported that the senior members of the
North Korean and US delegations had met on 2 ,and
4 February "after many requests" from the "US side,"
and observed that "It seems that talks will be con-
tinued at Panmunjom in the future."
2. The North .Korean radio today carried.the
15-minute recorded "confession" of one Edward R.
Murphy, identified as the "executive officer and
navigator" of the Pueblo. This fourth pueblo crew-
man's "confession�Tirst broadcast in English
to the Middle East and Africa.
3. The Domestic Service today broadcast the
text of a letter from Premier Kit Il-song to a
North Korean army unit--commemorating yesterday's
20th anniversary of the "Korean People's Army"--
which noted Pyongyang's "capture of an armed spy-
ship" engaged in "serious aggressive activities"
and called for "revolutionary alertness, militant
vigilance, and . . full preparedness."
