Attached is a letter from the former German General Karl Wolfr
which you forwarded recently to T.T for comment. Attached also is a
translation.
I have delayed commenting on General Wolff's letter until we
could aomplete traces on him and particularly on Fugen
with whoa General Wolff atatee be collaborated in preparing an
article to be published in the near future dealing with the 1,945
surrender of the German Army in Italy.
Traces on General wart reveal very little,current information:
he has lived in relative retirement since the end of the war. Boo-
ever, there is considerable information on Dollmarmi who vas barred
fraa Germany at Cho end of the ear and has lived since that time in
Switzerland. Austria. Italy and most recently in Spain. Be has been
under frequent attack, particularly by communist groups, for alle.ed
reeecazi activities and it Was because of such an attack in 1.952
which almost cost Dollmann his lire that Italian authorities eorced
him to flee to Spain. Several months a,Lo be attempted to re-enter
Germanz under an assumed pame to attend a meeting but was apprateuded
on arrival and expelled. His present whereabouts La unknaAbut we do
know he has recently been in touch with representatives of Life
regarding an article =littler's secret papers.
If you are not already familer with theattached report of
Dollmannis interrogation in 1945, you egy be interested in reading
the part dealing with the surrender of the German Army in Italy
since it my contain some impressions which will appear in the
article he and General Wolff have prepared.
We will be very interested in receiving a copy of General Wolff's
article. I would suggest a reply to him, thanking him for informing
you of the article and expressing your interest in receiving a copy of
it.
