PUEBLO SITREP

1. At 250127 Korea time, Pyongyang radio broad-
cast a five-minute statement of a person identified as
the skipper of the Pueblo, giving an account of the
capture of his ship. The full text will be available
later.
4. According to a US observer at the Military
Armistice Committee meeting at Panmunjom which dis-
cussed the Pueblo incident, the general mood was not

tense. During the statement of the senior US repre-
sentative on the incident, the North Korean side
chatted and acted jocularly, laughing aloud at US
demands. The senior North Korean representative de-
manded that the US aplogize for "violations of the
armistice, punish perpetrators and those responsible
and furnish assurances that it will stop all provo-
cations."
6. The US task force led by the carrier Enter-
prise, now standing off southern South Korea, is being
closely shadowed by the Soviet intelligence trawler
Gridrolog. The carrier is conducting normal flight
training operations. In addition, twelve F-105s and
eight F-4Cshave been moved into Osan and Kusan, South
Korea.
