Dear C.I.A.:
In the present day climate of war and terrorism, we are asked "how are
we dealing with terrorism?" The newspapers have abundantly outlined
Special Forces Operations.
My grandson is awed and fascinated by Special Forces and concomitant
-IntellIgence Operations. For his high school term-paper-he-choose-the-----
subject of Military Intelligence. He wants to begin his paper with the
Viet Nam era of military intelligence.
I know that during Viet Nam MACV-SOG was a covert intelligence division
hidden within the Special Forces (Green Berets), with a further
breakdown into Delta Force and another called Omega Force.
QUESTION: What was the hierarchy (breakdown) of "OMEGA FORCE" within
MACV-SOG (Green Berets)?
I am looking for a command structure something like:
801st Intelligence Division,
8th Regiment,
25th Battalion,
3rd Company,
1st Infantry,
Omega Force.
