%'hile __visiting his mother for TET
on 30 January
1968, heard that Viet Cong (VC) had come to the
village. e immediately boarded a bus 1200 hours. VC stopped
the bus along Route 5, and abducted and 12 other people.
The VCtlieri_ led th to a village whose n did not know,
where a 2006man VC group was quartered, saw rifles, but did
� rnnt:k;ow their make. The 200-man unit move out on 31 January with
nd the 12 other impressed people carrying the ammunition in
wooden boxes. The group moved to the PHU DINH area.
2. On arrival there, the ammunition bearers were told to evacuate
� the wounded to a village between the RACH CAT Road and PHU DINH.
They made seven trip, ',moll man carrying a wounded soldier per
trip. At 0400 hours, 1 February as began his eighth trip,
