A) ON NOVEMBER 16, 1977 OSCAR RUBEN DE GREGORIO MARCONI,
IDENTIFIED AS THE COORDINATOR OF NONTONERO ACTIVITIES IN
URU3uAY AND BRAZIL, WAS CAPTURED BY URUGUAYAN AUTHORITIES
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER URUGUAY VIA COLONIA. WHEN
ARRESTED, SUBJECT WAS USING FALSE ARGENTINE DOCUMENTATION
IN THE NAME OF MANUEL FERNANDO DEL CORAZON DE JESUS MANTARAS.
SEVERAL GRENADES AND A .38 REVOLVER WERE ALSO FOUND IN HIS -
POSSESSION.
B) AFTER THE ARREST, ADIA MARCONI DE GREGORIO, MOTHER
OF SUBJECT WHO LIVES IN BUENOS AIRES, WAS CONTACTED BY
UNKNOWN PERSONS AND WAS ASKED TO COME TO MONTEVIDEO TO
ASSIST HER SON. WHEN SHE ARRIVED SHE RECEIVED A PACKET Ot
LETTERS TO BE SENT TO GOU OFFICIALS ON BEHALF OF HER SON,
AND INSTRuCTIONS TO GO TO THE US EMBASSY, RED CROSS AND U.N.
REFUGEE COMMISSION FOR HUMAN RIGHTS FOR ASSISTANCE.
INSTEAD, SHE SOUGHT ADVICE AT THE ARGENTINE EMBASSY HERE AND
WAS TOLD NOT TO SIGN J e RETURN TO BUENOS
AIRES, WHICH SHE DID IT IS CLEAR THE
TERRORIST MOVEMENT w� NG 0 INVOLVE THE U.S. EMBASSY AND
INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS IN A CAMPAIGN DESIGNED TO SAVE
