SUBJECT: Viola June Cobb aka: June Cobb
#216 264
Subject, born 24 August 1927 in Ponca, Oklahoma, was
of operational interest in 1960. She was employed in Cuba
by the Castro Government and it was hoped she could be
recruited in place. She was, and is, an American citizen.
She arrived in New York City in June 1960 and physical
surveillance and audio monitoring of her hotel room was
conducted at the request of the MARC Security Officer.
This activity took place on 6 June 1960 and also involved
the monitoring of a polygraph of Subject.
Subject arrived back in New York City in September
1960 and again at the request of J4ARC Security Officer,
her hotel room was under audio surveillance from 21 to 29
September and from 6 October to 9 November. Phone cover on
Subject's outgoing calls was also provided as well as at
least one surreptious entry into her room after she had moved
in.
In addition, Subject travelled to Boston for a poly-
graph examination during 10 to 13 October and a physical
surveillance as well as audio coverage of her hotel room
was provided. Although Subject was not used as an Agent,
she continued to be of operational interest for debriefing
purposes until approximately 1968. There are no indications
of any special coverage being conducted on her after 1960.
