The regular monthly meeting of the Project -Co=littee vas �
attended by Chief, Medical Staff, and Chief, Psychiatric Division.,
this data. At the meeting, CMS presented the Medical Office
position in regard the mmorazd,um "Project". Restatement of Program".
This position is ccntained within the memorandum for the Director of
Security dated 19 Fovember 1953, subject: "Project"
The Medical Office commented also on the draft memorandum to DCI
from Director of Security, subject: "Project': Experimental Project
Utilizing Trainee Volunteers to the effect that it 'was recommended
the nror�am not be confined merely to rale volunteer trainee personnel
but that the field of election be broadened to include all comnonents
of the Agency and recommended that the subject rm=randt.m be changed
as apprmmiate to the broadening of such scope. The "Project" committee
verbally concurred in this recorr....em..al tion.
TheVedical Office commented further on Item 3c of subject
memorandum to the effect that the project would be more appropriately
IlArcii.d from a medical view point if accomplished within established
medical facilities and suggested that through its contact with a U.S.
government agency consideration be given to the use of another
U.S. facility .for such purposes. Conziderable discussion in.
regard this comment ensued and the Committee agreed 83 to the desir-
ability.of the proposal and requested that the Director of Security
discuss this possibility with the DOI and notify the Medical Office
if aPproval is obtained to proceed with the recommended content as
outlined.
