1. Cuba-Soviet
forces
a. Photography over the Soviet
armored camp at Remedios obtained
Sunday showed seven large cargo trucks
with trailers of the kind used to
move tanks.
b. The trucks and trailers
and six tank-like vehicles previously
observed were not in sight when the
site was photographed yesterday.
The same mission revealed two con-
voy formations, one consisting of
approximately 10, the other of about
21 cargo trucks.
c. An estimated 500-600 troops
were seen marching on the parade
ground.

the Soviet encampments at Hol-
guin and Artemisa showed that a
number of tank-like vehicles--four
on one cases three in the other--
have been removed from the positions
where they had been parked.

Dominican Republic President Bosch,
his fear of
unabated is
Antonio Imbert, Trujillo's assassin,
casting about for a way to deport him. Bosch's
present plan is to get Imbert to Puerto Rico and
thence onward to the US.
D. Indonesia Foreign Minister Subandrio is in line
for promotion to the position of First Minister
when Sukarno reorganizes his cabinet, probably early
next month.

F. USSR-China Russian citizens, hearing over the
grapevine that the Chinese Communists have exploded
a nuclear device, have been anxiously asking for-
eigners in Moscow for confirmation or denial. They
are said to show conspicious relief when told that
such reports are considered premature in the West.
G. Laos , Kong Le is pressing hard to induce Souvanna
to for an ICC investigation in the Plaine des
Jarres. His charges that North Vietnamese forces
have been moving into the Plaine des Jarres area
have been made public in Vientiane.
H. Pakistan-Afghanistan Both parties are edging
gingerly toward a reopening of discussions on their
border dispute. /
Pakistan's foreign minister had earlier
indicated that his government may be willing to re-
lent on the sticky question of permitting the
Afghans to reopen their consulate at Peshawar.
