PRINCIPAL DEVELOPMENTS
Prime Minister Souvanna has rejected a Communist de-
mand for an end to the air war in Laos. The Plaine
des Jarres area is quiet. (Page 1)

assessment of the effects of the war on the econo-
mies of all three participants.
