Baghdad has launched another mili-
tary campaign in the north against the
Kurds, after a cease-fire of nearly
fourteen months. Nasir had argued with
the Iraqis against such a campaign on
the grounds that it would tie down the
?Iraqi Army during a period of high Arab-
Israeli tensions.
Communist guerrillas are preparing
an early action against the US Embassy
as a protest against US "meddling" in
Vietnam and Guatemala,
The USIS
office in another city may also be a
target.
