Syria
A. The cease-fire negotiated yester-
day seems to be in effect. Since it
forbids movement of units or munitions.

B. Prior to the cease-fire there had
been no change in the military situa-
tion in Khtanga. Preparations were go-

ment of Ethiopian jet fighters, and
Sweden has announced that it will also
supply fighter unit.

government, has stated it does not
recognize the cease-fire agreement4,
and has ordered "general mobilization"
of the Leopoldvile and Thysville gar-
risons. This is virtually meaningless,
however, as these troops do not have

not want civil war with Katanga.
