earlier been postponed because of an
outbreak of fighting in the south,
which has since subsided. Goulart's

the Soviet position. On the "peace
appeal", however, the conference
appears agreed. Nehru and Nkrumah
will go to Moscow with it, while Sukarno
and Keita (Mali) will come to Washington.

vigorous action against recalcitrant

Elizabethsville "broke relations" with

the Katangan forces, deprived of their
white officers, may mutiny and turn
