1. Captain Duncan Lee was on the plans that crashed
is Northern Surma. Newspapers carried the report and John Davies'
picture but made no mention of Duncan Las's presence.
E. Ever since the crash occurred I susp2ct.1 D ncan
as on the plane and followed iwr Department cables that were
coming in to the Asiatic Desk. A Captain Rou C. Lee was reported
on the plane but as he was listed with Grientals, we assuaed he
was a Chinaman. Especially is this no, since Major Doering's
office reported another location for Duncan.
3. It was officially confirmed to as yesterday that
the Captain Lee was Duncan. He has received no injury. The
entire party is receiving medical aid and are being nourished
by parachute with the use of panel signals. T will follow this
matter and keep you advised.
