The main problems encountered in the preparation..of SNIE-33-60
concerned the views, relationships, .and.,power positions of.the members
of the CNU, and the attitudes of other. military leaders toward the CNU.
In addition, little is known about.papular attitudes toward .the military
regime, particularly in areas where Menderes' Democrat Party was
strong.
The USIB agencies are requested to take such action as is feasible
to fill these gaps in intelligence coverage.
