Summary:
The following report is a translation from Russian of three TOP SECRET
and SECRET documents which provide in tabular form the Warsaw Pact Combined
Command fuel stockpiles in Poland and proposed wartime unit allocations for
the Polish Armed Forces. The listing of materiel supplies indicates the
location in Poland of major stockpiles of high:grade POL and the
total Combined Command reserve located in that country as of 1 January
1979. The other two documents give the tonnages of one fueling for the
combat equipment of Polish army, air, front, and missile units, as well as
totals for the air defense forces and navy. End of Summary
Comment:
A "fuelangT , page 5, is understood to reflect the total capacity of
the vehicles assigned to each particular unit listed on the chart. Polish
armored divisions were translated as "tank" divisions to reflect the
original Soviet designation. The ground attack and reconnaissance air
divisions have also been reported as "assault-recon" divisions in this
series, depending on the original language.
