January 1979 Intelligence Information Special Report SUBJECT /// Wartime Fuel Stockpiles and Authorizations SOURCE Page 3 of 6 Pages DATE 25 April 1980 Documentary Summary: The following report is a translation from Russian of three TOP SECRET and SECRET documents which provide in tabular form the Warsaw Pact Combined Command fuel stockpiles in Poland and proposed wartime unit allocations for the Polish Armed Forces. The listing of materiel supplies indicates the location in Poland of major stockpiles of high:grade POL and the total Combined Command reserve located in that country as of 1 January 1979. The other two documents give the tonnages of one fueling for the combat equipment of Polish army, air, front, and missile units, as well as totals for the air defense forces and navy. End of Summary Comment: A "fuelangT , page 5, is understood to reflect the total capacity of the vehicles assigned to each particular unit listed on the chart. Polish armored divisions were translated as "tank" divisions to reflect the original Soviet designation. The ground attack and reconnaissance air divisions have also been reported as "assault-recon" divisions in this series, depending on the original language.
