Subject: Frank G. Wisner - Miscellaneous Information
Reference is made to your memorandum dated 28 November 1952, subject as
above.
I have had this matter investigated. It is. true that in 1944 Mr. Wisner, along
with other OSS and Mediterranean Air Force officers, was billeted at the home
of Mrs. Dimitri Bragadiru, known also as Princess Alexandra Caragea, Tanda
Caragea, and Tanda Moevs. Much later, in 1948, this woman confessed to CIC
in Vienna that she had worked for Rumanian Intelligence and had been a Communist
informer for the prior two years in Rumania.
Our investigation dis.closes no association with Mr. Wisner since approximately
1945 nor any indication that he then had any knowledge of espionage activities on
the part of Tanda Caragea.
I have not informed Mr. Wisnera0Y your memorandurDIiio 4.DAf s report.
