1. As Director of Central Intelligence and on behalf of
the entire intelligence community as well as the U.S. Government
I wish to commend you and the personnel under your command for
the outstanding work you have been performing on the
problem.
2. Your analysis of thel land the results
of the careful research you have conducted have been of the utmost
importance in supporting me and the President of the United States.
3. I have full knowledge of the tremendous pressures and
long working hours with which your office has been confronted.
I regret that the anonymity required of a professional intelli-
gence agency prevents public acknowledgment of your accomplishments.
You and your people should take great pride in the high order of
performance which you have rendered.
