The office of the Information and Privacy Coordinator received (on 6 February
2006) your 31 January 2006 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for "the
2005 [CIA] Inspector General's report into the performance of agency
personnel in events leading up to the September 11th attacks." We have
assigned your request the reference number above. Please use this number when
corresponding so that we can identify it easily.
We received an earlier FOIA request for the same report. We willsend you the
same CIA-originated record, if it is released, once that request has been completed.
Because of our backlog, I cannot say with certainty when that will be.
For your information, the FOIA authorizes federal agencies to collect fees for
records services. However, because search and review fees are borne solely by the
original requester, you are responsible only for a reproduction charge of ten cents per
page beyond the first 100 pages, which are free.
We will contact you again when we have completed processing the original
request. Meanwhile, we appreciate your patience.
Sincerely,
Scott Koch
Information and Privacy Coordinator
