Disguise Kit

Artifact Details

On 5 August 1963, Director of Central Intelligence John McCone created the Directorate of Science & Technology (DS&T). McCone gave the organization a clear mission and a sufficient budget to set it on a course toward success.

The DS&T is responsible for a broad range of activities using science, technology, and tradecraft to give the US an advantage in intelligence collection and the protection of national security. While we may first associate James Bond-like gadgets with the DS&T, less sophisticated items, such as this disguise kit, also fall under the purview of the DS&T. Not all officers get disguises – it depends on their work responsibilities and when protecting identity is important.
